Modernisation

Identity and endpoint transformation

Move identity and device management into Microsoft's cloud, with every policy accounted for instead of recreated from memory.

In build. This capability is being developed and is not yet delivered. We would still rather discuss it than let you find out later.

The situation

Group Policy has twenty years of accumulated decisions in it, and the people who made most of them are gone. Rebuilding it by hand in Intune means rediscovering every one.

Who it is for

Organisations still running Active Directory and Group Policy on their own servers that want to manage people and devices from the cloud.

What people worry about

Some old settings have no modern equivalent. The risk is a control everybody believes is still enforced, quietly gone. Every setting is accounted for: moved, replaced with something close, or listed as needing a decision.

What you get

Included in the engagement

  • An inventory of your Group Policy, with what each setting becomes in Intune
  • Settings with no equivalent listed for you to decide, never silently dropped
  • Device enrolment and compliance standards
  • Access rules aligned to the new device standard

What it means

Nothing dropped settings that cannot be matched are reported, not lost
