Migration

Exchange Server to Microsoft 365

Move mailboxes, archives, shared mailboxes and public folders off your own Exchange servers and into Microsoft 365, gradually or all at once, without a weekend of everybody watching a progress bar.

Server racks in a data centre, lit from below

The situation

The mail server is old, the hardware is out of support, and the people who built it have left. Nobody wants to be the one who breaks mail for the whole organisation.

Who it is for

Organisations still running Exchange on their own servers, especially where the hardware is ageing or out of support.

What people worry about

Your server is still doing its day job while we move things off it. We work at the pace it can comfortably take, so Outlook does not slow down for the people in the building, and we tell you up front how long the move will realistically take.

What you get

Included in the engagement

  • Gradual moves for organisations that want a hybrid changeover
  • All-at-once and staged moves for organisations without hybrid
  • Shared, room and equipment mailboxes, and public folders
  • Replies to old messages keep working, so nothing bounces
  • Paced to what your server can take, so the office does not notice

What it means

No bounced replies people answering an old email still reach the right person
Office stays fast the move is paced to what your server can handle

How it runs

What happens, in order

  1. 01

    Assess

We list your mailboxes, shared mailboxes and public folders, and check what your server can take.

  2. 02

    Plan

Waves are agreed with you, starting with a pilot group, and the switch gets a date.

  3. 03

    Move

Mailboxes are copied in the background while people carry on working.

  4. 04

    Switch

Mail is pointed at Microsoft 365 and people carry on in Outlook.

  5. 05

    Retire

Once everything is checked, the old server can be shut down with confidence.
