Google Workspace to Microsoft 365

Gmail, Drive, calendars and contacts into Microsoft 365, with people's folders and labels carried across sensibly and anything that cannot be matched exactly listed for you to decide.

The situation

A decision has been made to standardise on Microsoft, and years of mail and documents have to come with it.

Who it is for

Organisations moving their people from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.

What people worry about

Google and Microsoft organise things differently, so a few things have no exact equivalent. The worry is being surprised later. We show you where the differences are before the move, make the sensible choice by default, and list every exception in the report.

What you get

Included in the engagement

  • Accounts created and licensed in Microsoft 365 for everyone moving
  • Gmail, with labels turned into folders and categories
  • Each person's Google Drive files, in their own OneDrive
  • Google Docs, Sheets and Slides converted to Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Calendars and contacts

What it means

Every difference named anything that cannot be matched exactly is in the report
No duplicates an email with several labels arrives once, not several times

How it runs

What happens, in order

  1. 01

    Connect

A Google Workspace admin gives us read-only access, in minutes. We can look, but we cannot change anything in Google.

  2. 02

    Review

You see who and what is there, and decide who gets a Microsoft 365 account and licence.

  3. 03

    Copy

Mail, files, calendars and contacts are copied in the background while people keep working.

  4. 04

    Check

Everything is confirmed on the Microsoft side, and the report lists what needs a decision.

  5. 05

    Switch

On a date you choose, mail is pointed at Microsoft 365 and people start using their new accounts.

Worth knowing up front.
  • Google Shared Drives and Google groups are not moved automatically today. We identify them up front and plan them with you.
